Stop 1: Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site
Step Back in Time to Saskatchewan’s Roots

Location: Near Abernathy
History comes alive at this beautifully preserved, early 20th-century prairie homestead. It is the perfect place to kick off your trip by understanding the foundation of Saskatchewan’s proud farming heritage.
What You’ll See & Do: Explore the iconic stone house and historic barns while walking in the footsteps of W.R. Motherwell, a pioneer of scientific farming. You can watch costumed guides demonstrate historic farming techniques, interact with heritage livestock, and enjoy the sights and sounds of a bustling turn-of-the-century farmyard.
Stop 2: Katepwa Sunset Farm
Fresh Flavors & Feathered Friends in the Valley

Location: Near Katepwa Beach
Nestled near the stunning, sun-drenched shores of Katepwa Beach, this family-friendly farm is a celebration of vibrant market gardening and poultry farming.
What You’ll See & Do: Wander through blooming vegetable gardens and beautiful flower displays. Perfect for families, our farm, hosted by Leora Laforge, is a bustling home to friendly goats, busy chickens, and flourishing gardens. During your visit, you can enjoy the simple pleasures of country living by hand-feeding our goats or by collecting fresh eggs straight from the coop.
Stop 3: AG Legacy Farm
A Century of Sustainable Family Tradition

Location: Near Fleming
As a fourth-generation Century farm, the family here seamlessly blends time-honored family values with modern sustainable practices. As a Verified Beef Production Plus farm, they take ultimate pride in environmental stewardship.
What You’ll See & Do: See how high-quality beef, pork, and chicken are raised with deep respect for the animals and the environment. Take a tour to learn about modern egg and livestock production, get a look at how sustainable pastures operate, and find out exactly what it takes to bring the very best protein from the field to your family’s table.
Stop 4: Creekridge Farms Ltd.
The Pulse of Modern Multi-Generational Farming

Location: Near Willowbrook, SK (Just west of Yorkton)
Hosted by the Prybylski family (Bill, Mary and Josh), Creekridge Farms is a bustling, multi-generational operation that showcases the incredible diversity of large-scale prairie crop and livestock farming.
What You’ll See & Do (Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM): Get an immersive, behind-the-scenes look at a massive working farm. Climb aboard for their Crop + Cattle Hay Ride Tours (tentatively scheduled for 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM) to see fields of canola, wheat, barley, oats, peas, lentils, and flax up close. You’ll also get a look at their commercial cow/calf beef herd and marvel at massive, modern agricultural equipment displays that are sure to wow the kids.
Stop 5: The Red Market Barn
Live Music, Antiques, and Local Treats

Location: 5 km north of Kenosee Lake (Moose Mountain Provincial Park area)
A vibrant, bustling country market housed in a beautiful, historic red barn. It’s the ultimate community gathering space where everyone is treated like a friend.
What You’ll See & Do (Sunday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM): Unwind after your weekend drive! Pull up a lawn chair or sit at the tables to enjoy live music while the kids play in the massive sandbox. Browse a vast market of fresh garden vegetables, home baking, artisanal canning, handmade arts, crafts, and rare antiques. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat from the fantastic local food concessions to refuel for the drive home! (Note: Entry fee is $3.00; children 6 and under are free).
