Welcome to Saskatchewan Open Farm Days, August 9th, 2025 hosted by Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan!
Join us for an exciting day-long tour in either Saskatoon or Regina and immerse yourself in a variety of farm experiences right on your doorstep. This year, we proudly present 35 participating farms for Open Farm Days, and we have curated a special sampling itinerary for you to explore on August 9, showcasing the diverse agricultural offerings around the urban centers.
What to Expect:
- Convenient Travel: Sit back and relax as we take you on a journey through the scenic landscapes of the Regina and Lumsden area. No need to navigate or worry about parking – we’ve got it all covered!
- Explore Local Producers: You’ll have the unique opportunity to visit and explore a variety of local producers and experiences in the region. Spend approximately 1 to 1.5 hours at each location, getting an in-depth look at the diverse agricultural practices that make our Province so unique.
- Engaging Experiences: Each stop on the tour offers something unique, from farm tours and tastings to interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the hard work and passion that goes into producing the food and products we enjoy every day.
Ticket Information:
- Tickets grant you access to each farm on the itinerary.
- All day transportation, lunch and host for the tour
- Additional food, beverages, and purchases are available at each location at your own cost. Please bring cash as card payments may not be available at all locations.
- We will have a host on the tour bus to help keep you on track with the day’s schedule, but it is your responsibility to arrive and be on the bus at the scheduled times.

Guest Conduct
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we enforce a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour. Bus tour guides and host farms reserve the absolute discretion to remove any guest who violates this policy; if asked to leave, you will be solely responsible for arranging and paying for your own transportation back to the starting location.
Additionally, to see all the great locations for each tour, tours operate on a strict schedule to keep the day on track for all participants. It is your responsibility to know all, be aware of the time at pick-up and drop-off times, and be back on the bus punctually at each stop. Buses cannot wait for late passengers, and if you miss a departure, you must arrange your own transportation to the next stop or back to the starting point. By boarding, you agree to these terms.

Welcome to Saskatchewan Open Farm Days (August 8th, 2026), hosted by Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan! Ready to taste the best of what’s growing right in Saskatoon’s backyard? Skip the driving and join us for an incredible, day-long exploration of the diversity of food products grown here.
While there are 37 amazing participating farms across the province this year, we’ve done the curation work for you. We’ve handpicked a special sampling itinerary designed to showcase the diverse, delicious agricultural gems surrounding the city.

Saskatoon Grains, Dairy and Berries Itinerary (subject to change)
Depart from Western Development Museum
Kick off your day with a warm welcome as we board the bus at the Western Development Museum. The bus tour will depart at 9:45AM.
🌾 Stop 1: Sixteen Grains
A modern farm brand born to bring people closer together through fresh Canadian-farmed ingredients taking you back to basics to break bread and share ideas with family and friends around the table via nutritious, delicious and fun products.
🐮 Stop 2: Nienhuis Family Farm
Get an up-close look at a modern dairy farm that balances tradition and innovation. Meet the animals, explore the technology, and learn all about what brings milk to your table.
🥪 Midday Break: Lunch
Lunch is included in the tour and will be enjoyed en route or at a scenic outdoor location (weather permitting). Details will be shared closer to the event date, share your dietary preferences upon booking.
🐮 Stop 3: Seager Wheeler Historic Farm (Rosthern, SK)
Step back in time at this National Historic Site. Discover the legacy of Seager Wheeler, a prairie pioneer who changed the course of Canadian agriculture. Walk the heritage buildings and enjoy the scenic beauty.
🌾 Stop 4: BackRoads Ranch – Wakaw Location
Since 1930, the proud, multi-generational Back Roads Ranch has paired its decades of traditional grain and livestock farming with a sweet, newer venture: Saskatchewan-grown strawberries!
🚌 Return to Western Development Museum
We’ll arrive back in Saskatoon in the late afternoon—tired, inspired, and full of good stories and local treats

🧺 Stop 1: Western Development Museum
Kick off your day with a warm welcome as we meet the bus and spend time exploring the Open Farm Days Agriculture Showcase at the Western Development Museum and their Boomtown Haydays festival! The bus will depart from the Western Development Museum at 10:00 AM.

🐄 Stop 2: Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility – University of Saskatchewan
Get ready for an udder-ly amazing time at the campus-based Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility, where your animal-loving kids can head up to the public viewing gallery to get a close-up look at 100 dairy cows and watch milking robots in action! Complete with an interactive, kid-friendly interpretive centre, it’s the perfect hands-on spot for junior veterinarians and farmers to discover how scientists take great care of the cows, keeping them happy, healthy, and sustainable.
🌾 Stop 3: Sixteen Grains – Lunch Stop & Farm Tour
Get ready to fuel up with a modern farm brand built for families who love the power of big tractors and fresh, Canadian-farmed ingredients. Just like a trusty tractor working the fields to bring the harvest home, our nutritious, delicious, and fun products are grown to bring everyone together around the table to break bread, share ideas, and celebrate the heavy-duty teamwork of family and friends!
👨🌾 Stop 4: Wander’s Tiny Farm
Step into a childhood dream come true at Wander’s Tiny Farm, where passion for farming meets family-friendly fun! Created specifically with young children in mind, owners Wander and Stefanie have built a dedicated farm park on their property where your little ones can safely get up close with free-range pastured pigs, cows, and friendly laying hens. Kids will love climbing on farm equipment, burning off energy in the massive toy-filled playground, and playing games. Don’t forget to look out for the Did You Know farm fact signs scattered around the park to turn your visit into a fun, educational scavenger hunt the whole family will love!

Leave the keys behind and step aboard for the ultimate, hassle-free family road trip through the heart of prairie agriculture! The Southwest Saskatchewan Adventure Bus Tour is a fully catered, day-long journey packed with hands-on farming experiences, adorable animal encounters, and rich local history, with a delicious farm-to-table lunch and tasty snacks included throughout the day.
Your adventure kicks off at the Wheatland Mall parking lot (arrival at 8:30 AM, departing sharply at 8:45 AM). First, you’ll head to Krazy 8 Croft to cuddle Nessie the Highland calf and meet Penny the KuneKune pig. Next, we’ll stop at Bendy Creek Botanicals for a fresh, homemade, pesticide-free lunch surrounded by beautiful blooms. The fun continues at Treasure Valley Markets, a 33-acre paradise featuring a goat petting zoo, a massive playground, and paddle boat rides, before we wrap up our tour exploring a historic prairie icon at the Val Marie Heritage Grain Elevator.
We will return to the Wheatland Mall by 6:30 PM, leaving you and your family full of delicious local treats, incredible farm stories, and wonderful memories!

Meet your hosts, board the bus, and start your day! – Bus will depart at 8:45AM

🐮 Stop 1: Krazy 8 Croft
Meet first-generation regenerative farmers and get up close with their adorable animals! On this stop, guests can interact with Nessie the Highland Ambassador calf, meet Penny the KuneKune pig (and hopefully her piglets!), and spend time with the farm’s friendly flock of sheep. It’s the perfect spot to ask questions about sustainable farming, and kids will enjoy a simple make-and-take craft station.
🌻 Stop 2: Bendy Creek Botanicals (Lunch stop)
Welcome to our official lunch stop, a small but mighty farm dedicated to restorative, pesticide-free agriculture! While you enjoy a truly fresh, homemade farm-to-table lunch, you can explore their sustainable fields and vibrant blooms. Before boarding the bus, be sure to check out their farmstand, packed with fresh homestyle baking, farm eggs, canning, honey, and hand-made goods!
🐐 Stop 3: Treasure Valley Markets
Welcome to 33 acres of pure, family-friendly fun! This incredible mixed farm is a paradise for kids and adults alike, featuring a large playground, a petting zoo filled with friendly goats, and even relaxing paddle boat rides.
While the kids play, you can explore fields thriving under efficient trickle irrigation, pick a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, or head to the shop to enjoy delicious Foothills Ice Cream. Don’t forget to grab some homemade jams, jellies, pies, and freeze-dried treats, impressively, 90% of everything offered is grown and cultivated right here on the farm!
🚜 Stop 4: Val Marie Heritage Elevator
Discover Canada’s rich prairie grain history at the Val Marie Heritage Grain Elevator, an agricultural museum and community hub where you can explore a historic wooden icon, learn about the legacy of the grain trade, and browse local weekend markets.
🏛 Return to Wheatland Mall Parking lot (6:30 PM)
Wrap up your rural adventure with snacks in hand from Val Marie and head back to the Wheatland Mall. You’ll leave full of local flavour, farm stories, and memories!
