Get ready to explore Saskatchewan like never before! On August 9 and 10, Saskatchewan Open Farm Days invites you to connect with the people and places that grow your food. With 35 farms and host locations opening their gates across the province, this is your chance to experience agriculture up close—no muddy boots required (unless you want to).
In 2024, Saskatchewan Open Farm Days transformed fields into festival grounds, barns into classrooms, and farms into community hubs. 3000 visitors from across the Province got hands-on with agriculture—milking cows, petting baby goats, walking through grain fields, and learning how honey gets from hive to jar. One attendee summed it up best: “The opportunity to visit a nearby farm was, in itself, the most fascinating part. I got to milk cows, extract honey, and feed animals. Plus, we bought something from nearly every farm—great products!” That spirit of discovery and connection continues in 2025, as we invite even more people to experience the food, stories, and people that define rural Saskatchewan.
From livestock ranches to berry orchards, market gardens to grain farms, each location offers unique insights into farm life and the food we eat and the diversity of products.
What’s New in 2025?
- Ingredient Itineraries: Take part in self-guided food journeys that help you collect farm-fresh ingredients from participating locations. Each itinerary includes recipe cards and meal inspiration curated by a chef, showing how Saskatchewan-grown food can come together deliciously in your kitchen.
- Easy-to-Use Visitor Platform: Explore the Open Farm Days website with interactive maps, filters by activity or location, and themed travel suggestions. Whether you’re after animals, tastings, tours, or tractors—you’ll find your perfect farm match.
- Saturday Bus Tours: Want a curated experience without the planning? Each tour includes visits to select farms, transportation for the day, lunch and behind-the-scenes stories from Saskatchewan producers. Join one of three all-inclusive bus tours on Saturday, August 9, departing from Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw.
Each of the 35 host locations will offer at least one free activity, along with optional items for sale including fresh produce, local food, handmade products, and more. Explore the full list of farms and plan your adventure at www.skopenfarmdays.ca. This event would not be possible without the support from its sponsors including the governments of Canada and Saskatchewan through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, Saskatchewan Cattle Association, Saskatchewan Pulse Growers, Tourism Saskatchewan, Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan, SaskOilseeds, Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, Viterra, Grain Millers and SaskTel.
Saskatchewan Open Farm Days is more than a weekend road trip—it’s a celebration of the people, practices, and passion that power our province’s agriculture. Come meet the farmers, hear their stories, and see firsthand what it takes to grow the food we all rely on.
