As a member of our agriculture and culinary community, we are excited for you to join us in celebrating Saskatchewan food and agriculture products. There are 2 ways that you can participate in the event; with a mandatory free experience and paid experiences. If you have other suggestions or ideas on how to participate, please contact us and let’s chat about it!
Free Experiences:
The one mandatory element of Saskatchewan Open Farm Days is a free experience at every location. This ensures all visitors can share in the farm experience and understand food production in our province. The free experience does not need to be too curated, but it should be intentional to tell a part or the whole story of how you do what you do.
examples of this could be:
- Garden Tour: Guests arrive and get to tour the garden space, and you explain what you’re growing, why and how you use it.
- Self-Guided Tour: Tours of the barns you have onsite. Remember to have signage up if you have animals that need extra space and create barriers if needed. This could be a self-guided experience with signage and directional arrows.
Paid Experiences:
Covering the costs of your participation is welcome. Keep in mind that most visitors will be in groups, so group activities and tickets per person are easiest to manage.
examples of this could be:
- Tractor Rides: Rides in the field on the tractor explaining how the equipment works and what it is used for.
- Market: Provide a small market of vendors in your community or surrounding farms that showcase handmade items or products that you have on site that can be sold to guests.
