Saskatchewan Open Farm Days is an annual, province-wide event that invites the public to experience farm life firsthand. Held on August 9 & 10, 2025 this year, it connects visitors with the farmers and producers who grow our food, while showcasing the diversity, innovation, and pride of Saskatchewan agriculture. Each participating location hosts its own unique experience—from guided farm tours and interactive demos to hands-on activities and farm-fresh food tastings. Visitors can explore everything from grain farms and ranches to orchards and specialty producers. It’s an engaging, family-friendly way to learn where our food comes from and celebrate the people behind it. We’re inviting communities and agricultural associations to join us in celebrating the great things your area grows and has to offer!
Open Farm Days provides an event for you to showcase your region, support local producers, and strengthen connections between rural and urban residents. Whether you’re welcoming visitors with a map of local farms, organizing a group tour, or simply spreading the word, your community can play a vital role in the success of Saskatchewan Open Farm Days.

Examples of how to Participate: as an Association or Community
- Be a Hub
- Celebrate agriculture and community with a Saskatchewan Open Farm Days experience in your region by hosting a central gathering space for visitors. Set up at a community hall, fairground, or other accessible location where guests can begin and end their farm tour adventures. Feature local farms, artisans, and educational booths, or coordinate a bus tour to nearby participating sites. Share information about local events, accommodations, and tourist spots, and create a map or list of nearby farms (we’re happy to help with that!). Add to the welcoming atmosphere with a community BBQ, refreshments, washroom access, and a family-friendly rest area with nursing and comfort spaces—helping visitors stay fresh while they explore everything your rural region has to offer.
- Host a Local Vendor Market
Plan a vendor market at your local community hall, farm, or parking lot to celebrate Saskatchewan Open Farm Days. If your community already has a farmers’ market, enhance it with fun, family-friendly features like farm animals, wagon rides, and a community BBQ. Invite local crafters, bakers, and food producers to showcase and sell their goods, highlighting the richness of your region’s local talent and agriculture.
Host a Workshop or Demo
Host an interactive workshop or demonstration on topics such as soil health, ag technology, farm safety, or careers in agriculture. You can also offer your space for a local farm, ranch, or agri-business to set up a pop-up experience with tours, demos, and conversations. Partnering with museums or heritage organizations is another great way to bring agricultural stories to life through engaging displays and storytelling that highlight your region’s farming history and innovations.
Partner with Local Farms
Join forces with a participating farm in your area to showcase your ag association or community group during Saskatchewan Open Farm Days. Set up a booth, share your story, or offer hands-on educational displays. Support the farm by providing volunteers to assist with traffic flow, greeting guests, or managing logistics—helping create a smooth, welcoming experience for visitors while raising awareness about your role in the local ag community.
Promote Local Products and Hosts
Support your local farms and communities by spreading the word about Saskatchewan Open Farm Days! Share event details through community newsletters, social media channels, local radio, bulletin boards, and signage to encourage residents and visitors to explore the farms in your region. Your efforts help drive attendance, build connections between rural and urban communities, and celebrate the people behind our province’s food and agriculture.
