The Val Marie Heritage Grain Elevator is an agricultural museum, dedicated to the role of the country elevator in the prairie grain trade. Come learn what this big, dusty wooden building (and its 5,000 identical cousins scattered all across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) once said about Canada’s place in the world. We also host a weekend Farmers Market and various cultural events throughout the year!
Free experiences:
Val Marie farmers market. County-fair-style wheat sandbox. Local Agriculture in the Classroom representative will be on site to sell books and run free programming about the Canadian grain industry all weekend!
Paid experiences:
Guided tour of the elevator. By donation. Jeff Straker in concert! Saturday, 2pm. Tickets $25 - Purchase in advance here!
Where to park:
On the gravel, next to the municipal office.
Farm Rules:
We are an abandoned industrial building, and unfortunately, we do smell a little bit. Please be mindful of sensory or breathing issues. Most of the tour can be given from outside on request.
