Melanie SittlerWe are first-generation farmers with a passion for regenerative farming practices. We own a small herd of Highland cattle and often host guests and friends at the farm to spend time grooming and feeding members of our Highland herd. We all have a small flock of sheep and a Kune Kune pig named Penny. We love to educate people about the principles of regenerative farming and also about the history of the Highland Heritage breed. We are new to offering more formal, curated Highland/Farm experiences.
Guests will be able to view and interact with our Highland Ambassador calf Nessie. They will also be able to meet Penny the pig and hopefully even her babies if they arrive in time. We will also have sheep for people to interact with during their farm visit. Guests can ask questions regarding any of our farm principles, products and practices including regenerative farming. A website link will be provided for guests who wish to return to the farm for a paid more personal Highland experience. We plan to have a simple make and take craft/coloring station as well.
The farm shop will be available for onsite purchase. Paid Private farm visits available for purchase.
Closed-toed shoes are required on the farm at all times. People with open-toed shoes will be prohibited from being around the animals for safety reasons.
We will have signs marking a designated parking area.
Our farm is a working farm, and our animal welfare is the priority. No dogs are permitted due to the undue stress it causes to our animals. Guests must stay within the designated areas - this will be strictly enforced for safety. We use an electric fence on our farm, so please follow all signage for your comfort and safety. You may not enter any pens or buildings without authorization.
