The Western Development Museum (WDM) is the largest human history museum in Saskatchewan, with four locations across the province located on Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 territories and the Homeland of the Métis. The WDM Saskatoon features an immersive replica of a 1910 Boomtown Street, a Saskatchewan Story of settlement and agriculture through time, transportation innovation, agricultural machinery, and more! With a collection of over 75,000 artifacts ranging from pins to locomotives, the WDM serves the people of Saskatchewan through its exhibits, educational and public programs, special events, and research about the history of the province.

Free experiences:
  • The WDM is participating in the Canada Strong pass this summer! That means that admission to the galleries is FREE for all visitors 17&under.
  • Visit the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan chick display in the Education Room.
  • FREE in the galleries with admission:
    Agriculture themed Seek & Find Activity
  • Hands-on Activities
    Wheat Grinding- learn how a millstone works and take a turn grinding grain to make flour.
    Cow Milking- learning about the origins of dairy products, meet "Bessie" and try your hand at milking.
Paid experiences:

To see all that the WDM Saskatoon has to offer, regular admission rates are as follows:
$15 Adult, $13 Senior (65+), $11 Student

The WDM is participating in the Canada Strong pass this summer! Visitors aged 18-24 receive 50% off the regular adult admission.

Where to park:

The WDM Saskatoon has a free parking lot right in front of the building that can be accessed via Lorne Ave.

For the folks participating in the Open Farm Days bus tour, please park in overflow parking located on the west side of the main parking lot, past the outbuildings.

Museum Manners:
No food, drinks, or gum permitted within the galleries
Walk, don't run
Be respectful of those around you
Do not touch or climb on the artifacts
